I want to lower my energy bill, what can I do?

In view of keeping bills down during the current energy crisis across Europe, there are of course, modifications you, as a consumer, can make to ensure your bills are as low as possible.

Implementing conscious consumption during those cheaper P3 hours, will make a big difference to the prices of our bills.💡

These are the hours set by the government on June 1, 2021 for electricity time periods:

P3 – Off-Peak Hours: these are the cheapest hours and range from 12:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Monday – Friday, as well as 24 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.

P2 – Mid-Peak Hours: these are moderately priced hours and range from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 10.00 p.m. to 12.00 a.m Monday – Friday.

P1 – Peak-Hours: these are the most expensive hours and the best time to be conscious about consumption. They run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from to 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m Monday to Friday.

You can also register with your distributor, which can give a great understanding of what time periods you use the most electricity. Once registered with your distributor, you will be able to monitor your consumption live and access historical data, day by day, hour by hour. 💻

When you are trying to save money of the energy bill, it is important to update your home appliances and light bulbs, since an old appliance can be an energy hog. Most appliances have made a lot of energy-saving leaps over the years, so in most cases it is worth considering to replace them with a new and more energy efficient one.💡
